About this coloring picture

This coloring page shows a smiling baby red panda sitting on the ground and hugging a large, round paper lantern against its belly. The cub has a big rounded head with two pointed ears, each with fuzzy inner tufts, and cheeks drawn with jagged fur edges. Two curved patches sit above the large, shiny eyes, and the small nose and cheerful open mouth give the face a friendly look. Its round body, plump arms and two paw pads with toe beans are all outlined with clean, bold lines.

The lantern is the centerpiece. It is an oval, ribbed shape with horizontal bands crossing curved vertical lines, a flat collar at the top and a small collar at the bottom, with a short tassel hanging below it. On the left, the panda's big bushy tail curls forward in thick stripes with a tufted tip. On the right, a thin bamboo stalk with segmented joints and many pointed leaves rises from a small patch of soil with grass blades. A few tiny pebbles and a small grass tuft on the left complete the ground.

Coloring ideas are completely up to you. You could use rusty orange and cream for the panda, darker brown for the legs and paws, and a glowing red, gold or pink for the lantern. The tail stripes can alternate between warm browns, and the bamboo works well in fresh greens. Crayons suit the larger areas like the body and lantern, while colored pencils and fine markers handle the bamboo leaves and fur tufts more easily. The background is white, so you can leave it empty or add a sky, grass or soft glow of your own.

You can print the sheet directly from the page, download it as a PDF for easy printing at home or school, or use the Color Online option to color the PNG artwork on a screen. Printing on standard letter or A4 paper at actual size works well, and thicker paper is helpful if you plan to use markers or watercolor pencils.
