Sleepy Hedgehog Under a Giant Leaf Coloring Page

About this coloring picture

This coloring page shows a sleepy hedgehog curled up on the ground beneath one large, curved leaf. The hedgehog has its eyes closed in peaceful curved lines, a smiling mouth, a dark oval nose and two small round ears. Its pointed face rests low near the grass, and tiny front paws with little claw lines peek out at the bottom. Across its back, jagged spiky outlines and short curved quill strokes create a fluffy, textured coat that is easy to follow with a pencil or marker.

The giant leaf arches over the animal like a roof. Its thick stem bends down on the left and ends in a rounded base near the grass, while the wide leaf blade stretches across the top toward a pointed tip on the right. Several curved veins run through the leaf, giving you separate sections to color. On the right side of the hedgehog sit a larger rounded stone and a smaller stone in front of it. Small flowers with round centers and simple petals appear at the lower left and on the right, along with short grass tufts and a thin ground line.

Coloring ideas are entirely up to you. The hedgehog could be soft brown, gray or tan, with lighter shades on the face and paws and darker tones on the quills. The leaf might be a fresh spring green, or you could try autumn orange and yellow for a cozy look. The stones work well in cool grays or warm browns, and the flowers can be pink, purple, red or yellow. The white background can stay open, or you can add a gentle night sky, soft grass or a warm glow.

You can print the sheet directly from the page, download the PDF for printing at home or school, or use the Color Online option to color the PNG artwork on a screen. Standard letter or A4 paper at actual size works well, and heavier paper is a good choice if you plan to use markers or watercolor pencils.
